Foundation is the base upon which we build a structure. Marriage is not a physical object like a house. So, its foundation cannot be like the physical foundation visible in the form of concrete mixture which we lay when we want to start building our house. Marital foundation is based upon the principles that originate from its source. Its strength is measured by the integrity, reliability and the strength of the source. If these variables are strong in the source, their intent and principles will also be strong because you can only give what you have. A table made from mahogany tree is expected to be as strong as the mahogany tree just as sapwood table will be as weak as sapwood.
