Reliving Memories and Good Times

Memories are something that can't be taken away. They are a person's real assets, the ones of true value. In our youth we don't really pay much credence to this and channel all our energies chasing frivolous material possessions.

I Want My Spouse To Feel Strong And Genuine Feelings For Me Again Before It's Too Late

"I honestly don't think that my husband feels much for me anymore. He doesn't go out of his way to spend one on one time with me. It's as if we coexist, being polite to one another but not really engaged in our married life. Frankly, I can't even get him to get mad at me. The other day, I lashed out at him, trying to pick a fight. I wanted to get some type of feeling from him. But he left. He came back home after I was asleep. The other day, I asked him if he still loved me and he said that he wasn't sure what he felt. Honestly, he doesn't seem to feel anything at all. And that's what is hurting me the most. I want him to feel genuine feelings for me again. He hasn't said anything about moving out or separating. But I don't see how we can't be headed that way. We don't interact in the way that a husband and wife should. He doesn't seem to feel intimately toward me anymore. And I want to get that back. But I worry that it's too late and the feelings are too far gone."

Is Invasion a Subtle Act of War?

The many faces of invasion and why we have to be ever watchful so as not to be on either side of the fence - the invader or the invaded. Whenever I hear the word invasion, what immediately comes to mind is one country invading another. We have ultimately learned that the reasons we are given for the invasion are rarely the whole story. It is difficult to separate invasion into different categories, because each one tends to bleed into the other. Physical invasion can lead to mental invasion and to spiritual invasion and so on. Invasion is insidious!

I'm Having A Hard Time Keeping Myself Busy and Being Useful During My Marital Separation

"My husband and I are going through a trial separation. It was more his idea than mine, but even I have to admit that things were very tense and probably not great for either of us. The problem is that we have been married for eight years and I have placed most of my focus on my family. I have good friends, but obviously my family came first. My husband and I try to split time with our kids equally during this separation. So when he has the kids, I honestly do not know what to do with myself. I feel so lost. I feel worthless because I don't have any other way to fill my time. Normally, when the kids were away, I'd spend time with or talk to my husband. I can't do that now. I've gone out with friends, but it's awkward. Mostly, I just watch TV or read a book, but it makes me feel like a total loser. I almost want to reconcile with my husband just so I don't have to face such horrible loneliness anymore. How do you figure out what to do with yourself during your separation?"

My Husband Is Moving Out To See If He Will Miss Me

"My husband has been muttering about a separation for about six months. I will admit that I mostly ignored him because he just seemed to repeat himself without ever doing anything. About four weeks ago, my mother had a health scare and I had to travel to another state to care for her. He claims not to have missed me and now says that we need to be apart for a longer period of time in order for him to ascertain whether or not he would miss me during a real separation. I hate that we have been fighting lately, but I do not want to lose my marriage. I do not want a separation, but he seems determined. So I asked him to get an apartment very close by so that we can see one another all of the time. He rejected that and said that he 'wanted the time and space to see if he misses me.' Well, if we have very limited contact, what if that just makes our marriage worse? What if that makes him want to end our marriage even sooner? How do I make him miss me if he's distancing himself already?"

I Can't Seem To Stop Myself From Saying Hurtful Things To My Spouse And Now He May Want A Separation

"I will admit that I can be hot-headed sometimes. Before I even know it, something will come out of my mouth before I can stop it. Most of my friends know this about me, so most of them just ignore it when I slip. But my husband can not. And now he's saying that he is thinking about a separation because he almost feels as if I verbally abuse him. I will admit that when we fight, I often end up saying things that I deeply regret. And my husband is wounded by what I say. Sometimes, I apologize later and he seems to accept it. But now I realize he wasn't just brushing it off, since now he's saying that we should probably separate. It bothers me that he says I'm verbally abusive because that's obviously taking it too far. It's not as if I call him stupid or say other derogatory things. I don't want to lose my marriage. But sometimes, things just come out of my mouth. How do I stop?"
