Do You Think That These Are The Best Solutions For Your Problem?

My Spouse Doesn't Know If He Wants To Come Back To Me

"For almost six months, my husband acted as if he could barely stand to even talk to me. Never mind the fact that he had moved out to avoid me and not fight with me. Him not even bothering to check up on me that hurt the most. So I was absolutely thrilled when he started calling me and then not screening his calls anymore. Even better, that lead to him asking me if we could meet a couple of times per week. This has been such a precious time for me because it is almost like when we were first dating. We continued to see one another and to talk, but he made no mention of coming back home or of reconciling. One day I just blurted out 'when are you coming back home?' My husband looked at me like he was shocked at my outburst, and then he sighed and said that he wasn't sure if he was ready for that yet. Why would he be willing to be affectionate and to interact with me, but then not be sure if he wants to move back? Does this mean that there is no hope for a reconciliation?"

Can Our Marriage Work If I Am The Only One Trying?

"Our marriage has been slowly deteriorating for the last two and a half years. There's just a distance and a coldness. Since my husband is starting to spend less and less time at home, I fear that he's going to give me the 'I need space' speech or to ask for a separation. So I decided that I need to make some changes to try to fix things. I found out that if I invested more time in my marriage, then this would be a good first step. So I have been trying to do these things, but my husband doesn't respond very well. I finally admitted that I was just trying to make things better with our marriage. His response to me was that people who have good marriages do not have to 'try.' So he does not seem at all interested in 'trying' when it comes to improving or ultimately saving our marriage. I guess I question if I'm wasting my time. I'm willing to try just about anything, but if my husband is not going to do anything, is it all for nothing? Can I still make it work?"

My Husband Says He Doesn't Care If I Stay Or Leave

"My husband and I have been fighting pretty badly for almost four months. For a while, my husband was apartment hunting and was telling me that he was going to move out, but he never actually did. Still, he complained constantly. I got tired of hearing him complain all of the time, so I told him that I was going to leave so he wouldn't have to be so unhappy. I really hoped that he would confess that he really doesn't want for us to live apart. Instead, his exact words to me were: 'I really don't care if you stay or go.' This hurts me. I had hoped that his not moving out meant that he was willing to save our marriage, but now he acts as if he is indifferent as to whether we live together or not. I don't want to pack my stuff and leave, but what do I even say now? How do I avoid not having to leave my house? Do I just have to admit that I gambled and lost and that my marriage is over?"

Love At First Sight: A Dreamy Notion

Human beings want to love and to be loved. Some are more eager than others to find their "soul mate," and the sooner the better. Beware and be smart! Do not rush into a relationship due to loneliness, desperation, or a decision based on feelings. How well do you know your beloved? It is easy to overlook obvious data when your heart and mind are clouded by your dreamy ideals. Love is not entirely chemistry; it involves knowledge of the person, and of yourself. You need to know how one reacts to stress and trauma and how one handles changes in life. Are you familiar with the person's history, birth order, temperament, pain, challenges, financial philosophy, etc? Can you really look into someone's eyes and know whether they are able to forgive, whether they respect all human beings and what their world view is, how is was formed and how they practice it? Happy, meaningful lifelong relationships are not usually formed within a few seconds, days or weeks.

Love Is a Decision: Mature Love Is Not a Feeling

Marriages with strong foundations include a worldview that goes deeper than compatibility, best friends and love - deeper than feelings. What is unseen in these relationships is the view that the goal is not happiness; the goal is oneness. The couple know they are a team, with most of the following philosophies: (1) Each one is out to make the other happy, rather than focus on making the self happy. (2) Happiness is not the goal of marriage because happiness is like the ebb and flow of a tide, always changing. (3) The goal of marriage is deeper - for the betterment of our souls.Together, we are stronger, and left alone, we might persevere in bad habits and selfishness. Marriage helps us reach virtues and maturity. Through sacrifice and consideration of another person, we must come out of our cozy caves. Choosing to love means you will have a better chance of persevering through betrayals and temporary feelings, calling upon forgiveness and healing.

My Husband Has Said Awful, Hurtful Things To Me - So I'm Not Sure We Can Save Our Marriage

"I admit that while my husband and I have been struggling while going through a separation, I've said some pretty mean things to him. In my frustration, I have called him selfish. But before we even separated, he was saying really hurtful things to me. For example, he said that I sold him a bill of goods when we were dating. He acts as if I purposely tricked him and then switched my personality for spite. He doesn't realize that people naturally mature and change over time. But we have kids to think about. So I've asked him if he thinks that it will be possible to save our marriage. His answer was that he doesn't know, but that he thinks that we are better off just going with the flow. He's pretty distant and cold. In spite of this, I would like to save my marriage for the sake of my children. But when I mention this to my sister or to my friends, they both ask why I'd want to maintain a marriage to someone who has said hurtful things. I do see their point.
