The foundation of marriage, as accepted in Indian culture and society, suggests that there is no requirement of assent between a male and female to have physical relations. Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, DMK MP, recently speaking in the lower house of the parliament of India has asserted that more than 75% married ladies in Indian society are subjected to conjugal assault.
