In search of happiness, humanity has invented 2 new concepts, unknown in the realm of other species. These are: institution of marriage, and religion. Unfortunately there are problems in both - religious, and domestic violence. A happy married life sets a good precedent for their children to emulate. Parents have the onerous duty towards the children, to live in harmony.
